Opening Address: Why 'We Need a Break'?
Professor Stephen W.K. Chiu's research interests involve the sociological study of Hong Kong from a comparative and historical perspective. His current projects include topics such as education, social stratification and inequality, social movement, cultural industries, youth and traditional Chinese medicine. Many of these projects have public policy implications and he is also an active contributor to public discussions of policy issues through the news media.
Since 2009, he has been the Chair of the Curriculum Development Council-HKEAA One Committee on Liberal Studies, Education and Manpower Bureau. His current research on educational issues included the academic and career transition of student after secondary education, education at the sub-degree level, and the relationship between family socio-economic background and student performance in Liberal Studies.

Ada is a lawyer, local politician, cultural advocate, educator, social entrepreneur and a staunch advocate of social innovation, creative education and cultural development. She founded Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture (HKICC) and then Hong Kong's only art high school, the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity, Make A Difference (MaD) initiative. Her latest social venture, The Good Lab, aims at promoting the civil society in Hong Kong.

Nicknamed Giraffe, Kenny has taught in school, wrote textbooks, involved in gifted and special education and is a staunch advocate of reading. But children, playing, listening to stories, and nature are what he loves best.
Kenny Founded Little Green Feet, a Parent-Child Reading Club in 2013. Through picture books, the nature and games, he pursues his dream of empowering more parents to treasure the childhood of their children.
Little Green Feet has become one of the most active parent organizations, holding over 200 highly sought-after activities a year, including camping with 1000 people, 50 families investing in 5000 wooden building blocks, reading picture books with 200 daddies.
Dr Tsui Chun Cheung

As a principal for nearly twenty years, Dr Tsui has been initiating a number of significant curriculum innovations in schools. He has published about 20 articles and presented in different education forums. His research and practice interests include educational leadership, curriculum development, teaching method and teacher professional development. He has been providing professional support to different organizations and serving as mentor of new appointed principals, assessor of Certification for Principalship, assessor of Doctoral degree course, assessor of External School Review, member of Curriculum Development Council and part-time tutor of tertiary institutes.
