《Being Good》 This movie has an ensemble cast which draws together normal people who might be living next door, in any normal town. And it draws attention to various problems like child abuse, negligence, teasing, which might exist in any town, more than a little. The problems could often be solved by the expression of a little kindness and consideration. "It takes a village to raise a child", "Change childhood and we change the world" We choose this movie because it resonates a lot of the messages from Robin Grille's internationally acclaimed book, "Parenting for a peaceful world". As we have invited Mr. Grille to come to Hong Kong for a series of talks and workshops as part of our 5th anniversary presentation, seeing this movie first would help you understand why it's especially important to raise children in a peaceful, loving and empathetic environment. Jonathan Tang graduated from university in 2016 and now works as an administrative clerk. Growing up in Hong Kong’s traditional schooling system, he then went on to study high-school in the U.K. Since a young age, he was not great at socializing or communication; and due to society’s lack of understanding for Asperger's Disorder, he experienced unhappy school days as he was bullied and discriminated against. He was diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder by a psychiatrist at almost 20 years old, and through counselling and training, he began to regain his confidence.
Jonathan is now the pianist and conductor of multiple Catholic church choirs, as well as the manager of the Hong Kong Warhawks American Football Team. |
